Designer Crafts: Hand of the Maker
Tori's Kimono Collection of silk paintings selected for Designer Crafts with the Society of Designer Craftsmen.
Hand of the Maker celebrates 130 years of the Society of Designer Craftsmen. The Society's first exhibition was in 1888 at the New Gallery in Regent Street, London, under its former name as the Arts and Craft Exhibition Society. 130 years later the Society's aims remain the same, which is exhibit and promote the work of its over 400 members.
In the exhibition you will see handmade works of fine and skilled craftsmanship from a selected group of craftsmen and women from the Society's membership. Teh work on display comes in variety of media such as ceramics, glass, furniture, jewellery, metalwork, wood, textiles, book arts and mixed media. The exhibition is split between the Cookhouse and Triangle galleries and the Society's famous 'Shop within the Show' will be located in the Cookhouse Gallery.
Tori's latest Kimono Collection of silkscreen and hand painted silk fine art pieces have been selected for the exhibition, four to be shown in the Triangle Gallery and one to be hung in the Cookhouse Gallery. Tori will also have a range of her handprinted CityScape scarves of London, Paris and New York for sale, along with smaller Kimono Collection silk paintings.
