British Talent Search - Textile Design Winner

Tori wins textile category of B&Q's British Talent Search 2013 and features in Elle Decoration.

September 2013

Tori , a second year printed textiles student at Winchester School of Art, has been announced as the winner of the textile category of B&Q’s British Talent Search 2013 in association with Elle Decoration.  After an exciting photo-shoot in a London warehouse studio, her work is being featured  in Elle Decoration's September issue, along with winners in 3 other product categories.

Despite many entries from design colleges across the UK, B&Q’s commercial team said that Tori’s designs were an instant hit with the team and they liked that Tori had researched the company’s products so thoroughly that she had created designs for a product not presently on offer.

Tori designed her textiles to form part of B&Q's Blooma range of outdoor garden furniture.  Her idea was to create a family set of deckchairs with removeable and recycleable covers for end of life.  Having previously studied garden design, Tori wanted to put garden elements firmly into her designs and her four winning designs consisted of Garden Produce, Garden Creatures, Garden Tools and a co-ordinating Garden Stripe.
